Library and Information Science

Library science is considered as the mother of all science and is a fountain of knowledge. It's significance has increased tremendously with the introduction of computerized systems in all spheres of Information Technology. Some of the important subjects which are taught to the students are Cataloging, Classification theory and Practice, Computer Programming theory, Information Storage and Retrieval Bibliography and Documentations and Computer Applications. Diploma holders can join as Librarians in schools, ITI's or as Assistant Librarians in Polytechnics, Public Libraries, Departmental Libraries or Library Assistants in Universities, T.T.T.I.s. Engineering Colleges, Degree Colleges and special libraries.
